Bored…so decided to posttt:)

Hey everyone=)

I’m just sitting here in class…bored…and decided to post on my blog, seeing as I haven’t in a while. I’m just so busy out with friends, homework, and with my personal livejournal blog and piczo site. Me and Katie were gonna work on our video during this time for the ITLP, but the geek key won’t work! We tried to upload the video from the geek key, and did exactly as Mr. Fisher said, but whenever we opened the video the computer would go mental and shut down. We thought maybe it was just our video, but it happened for a few other people as well. Maybe it’s just the geek key? I don’t know, but we’ll get Mr. Fisher to have a lookat it tomorrow.

Spring Break is coming up THIS WEEK COMING!!!=)=) I’m so excited! I’m not going anywhere special or anything, but my mom mentioned taking me and one of my best friends Lana to Thompson overnight. So
I hope that happens. I’ll probably just be hanging out with my friends over SB, hopefully if they go somewhere it won’t be for too long. I’m just excited to get off of school; I’m sick of it now…too much stuff going on…

So, this past weekend it was Toni’s birthday party! Well, her actual b-day was on Tuesday March 13, but the party was this weekend. Her mom took her, me, and Nikita to Thompson. We did a lot of shopping, and I got these two sweet shirts…one is Megadeth and the other is Slipknot, they’re two of my favourite bands, well besides Metallica (absoulte FAVOURITE), ACDC, Def Leppard, and Pantera =). They didn’t have any shirts with them on it out there though…hopefully next time. We went for supper to Boston Pizza with Sarviea, Dustin, Sariviea’s boyfriend Josh, Dee, Paul, Ann, and Josh’s friend Spencer. Toni’s mom was making us laugh SO HARD, hahaha you have no idea it was so funny we were like crying. Us people went to Siv’s house, and their friend Jordan came as well. HAHA Toni’s mom thought his name was Fez so when she walked into the kitchen she was like HEY FEZ hahahahaha and that wasn’t even his name =P. Then she said something else and Spencer spit his pop EVERYWHERE, omigosh it was priceless…they’re so much fun to hang out with! They’re funny and such a laugh, I can’t wait to hang out with them again. They might be coming here over the summer to go boating/tubing and stuff.

Anyways, the bell is gonna go anytime soon now so I’d better go, byee<33

Ban “Comic Sans MS?”

Heyyy,

I was on my livejournal.com account, and I came across this one person’s blog. I was reading it, and she was talking about how people want to ban the font, Comic Sans MS. Surely you all know what this font looks like. If not, there’s a sample of it on the link I’m about to provide you.

Anyways, check out this website and see what you think about the font being banned. It gives a few facts about how the font was to only be used for comics but how people use it everyday, so this is why they want to ban it. Have a look at the site.

What do you think about Comic SansĀ MS being banned? Should it be or should it not be? Leave a comment on my blog too, if you’d like.

ITL Project: Challenges and Advantages

Hiii

Well, I’m just sitting here in the school’s computer lab, and Mr. Fisher gave us an assignment that had to be written on our blogs because we haven’t been paying that much attention to them, which kind of isn’t good, but is alright in a way, because we’ve been so busy with the International Teen Life Project! Speaking of which, that’s what our blog post had to be about: the ITL Project’s challenges and advantages.

What are the challenges of working internationally?

Challenges of working internationally? I guess there are a few. One would be that we live so far away from each other! For example, if we want to discuss the project and how we can change/improve it, we can’t exactly sit down and talk with one another face-to-face, unless we’re willing to spend loads of money to fly there by plane, which is extremely unlikely. We do, however, have ways of communicating. We can comment on each other’s blogs if we can track them down, and we can talk on the wiki…but I still don’t find it the same. Sometimes, it would just be easier to talk to the person face-to-face, but we can’t do that due to the distance between us, but I guess we have to work with what we’ve got.

Another challenge is that where there are so many classes working on this project, if one class is editing the wiki and the other needs on, then you’ve gotta wait. There’s nothing wrong with waiting - you just have to be patient and wait your turn - but still, it’d be nice if all classes could edit at once.

Speaking of editing, that’s another challenge. If one class likes the way they edit the wiki but another class wants it to be another way, then everytime the other class logs in the wiki will be changed and, chances are, they’ll change it back to the way they want it. Before you know it, everyone’s changing the wiki and it gets confusing after a while. The classes will just have to agree on one way sooner or later, though.

What are the advantages of working in a collaborative international group?

There are a lot of advantages! First of all, it’s great to get in touch with people from around the world. You can learn about their feelings and how they differ from yours. You could also make friends! Actually, over the weekend two girls had added me on MSN, and I was talking to them - they’re really nice! I really enjoy talking to them; they’re really cool. It was great to learn more about them too, and their feelings, and the stuff that they do for fun.

Another advantage would be that working with other people can help improve your knowledge of geography. If you learn a lot about what someone else’s area looks like, then you could easily picture the place in your head, which helps you get a better understanding of different places around the world. This is why I think we should interact with other people, because not only will you learn more about them and their feelings and make friends with some people, but you will learn more about places around the world as well.

Anyways, that’s about it for this blog post. If you are in the ITL Project, and want to answer these questions as well, feel free to copy and paste them onto your blog. Also, please leave a comment - I’d like to know what you all think of these questions and how I answered them! (Even if you’re not in the ITL Project, I’d still like to read some comments from you :D )

Catching Up

Heyyy =D

Wow, it seems like I haven’t written in such a long time! I guess I have, like about anorexia and bulimia and stuff, but just about other stuff?, I haven’t really written. So I decided to write a post to catch up a bit.

In Math class lately, we’ve been finding the surface area and volume of composite figures. It’s really hard…or so I think it is…because there’s so many figures to find the surface area of, and it’s also not easy because Mr. Fisher isn’t here to helpĀ  us - he’s out of town for the entire week, well he was here for Monday morning, and he comes back tomorrow. It sucks that he hasn’t been here all week, because the math is really hard right now, and it would be better if he was here to help us out. So that’s what math class has been like lately.

LA and Social Studies has been pretty fun lately. In LA, we are in groups and we have to write our own radio play scripts, and record them on a program called Audacity. Download it on Google, if you’re interested. Anyways, I’m in a group with Dustin and Mary, and the suckish part about it is sometimes when you go to save it it’ll freeze…but we managed to freeze what we got done today. We’re about half-way done. All we’ve been doing on social studies is working on the ITL project, just researching our topic (mine and Katie’s is anorexia/bulimia/other eating disorders.)

That’s about it for school. Tomorrow, though, me, Randy, and Michael T. are riding the bus out to Anna’s house right after school!! I cannot wait…we’re going to have a photoshoot on the bus and at her house and we are just gonna hang out and have fun. We’re leaving at about 10:30 at night! And we’re also eating supper there (pizza) which will be really fun. I cannot wait; I love going to Anna’s house with friends because there’s so much to do there, and her house is so BIG and awesome!! =D

Anyways…that’s basically all. I’m in school and it’s almost 3:30 so I’d better go…byee<33
