Dress Codes
Hey =)
As some of you know, I go to a blog called Second Opinion a lot. I like his posts because you can leave your own opinion and he always has great topics to talk about. I was there one time, reading a post, that was talking about Dress Codes and what we should and shouldn’t be able to wear at school. I’ve decided to make my own dress codes up and you can say how you feel about them!
Strap shirts/tank tops/muscle shirts: Who cares? It’s really not that big of an issue. Some people were worried about bra straps showing. It’s just a bra. Nothing too big or bad. I don’t see much of a problem with them showing. I don’t see the problem with wearing strap or tank tops to school. Guys should be allowed to wear muscle shirts, too. It’s not that big of a deal. If anyone can change my mind about this, please tell me in a comment. I really don’t think my opinion will change, though, unless it’s an extremely super great reason.
Mini Skirts: Umm, this is a tough one. It depends on how mini it is. If it’s too small, no one wants to see that. I don’t think mini skirts should be allowed…just long skirts. Long skirts are okay. But mini skirts might be too tiny, and that may be an issue.
Shoes: There’s a lot to say about shoes. First of all, I think we should be allowed to wear our outdoor shoes in school. It’s different though if you walk in the classroom with a big trail of mud coming behind you. Either clean the shoes or get some indoors. But if your outdoors are pretty clean, I don’t see why not. Another thing is high heels. Sure we should be allowed to wear them in school, but not in gym class. It’s common sense to wear running shoes or sneakers in gym class. I mean, you could easily trip and fall, and that would not be good. But besides gym class, you shoud be allowed to wear high heels in school.
Dying hair: I’ve heard from a number of people about hair dying in different schools. One story I heard was a girl dyed her hair pink, and when she came to school, she was punished and had to do things after school, like janitor stuff. How unfair! Dying your hair should not matter. It’s something you do at home, anyway. It’s none of the school’s business. Dyed hair even looks pretty good sometimes!
Piercings/tattoos: This one is a toughie, believe it or not. Well, the tattoos part is, anyway. Piercings shouldn’t matter at school. That’s all I’m saying; I’m not even getting into that one. If you think otherwise please comment and let me know. Anyway, tattoos should be allowed, but if they have swears or they’re inappropriate, they should probably be covered up. That’s normal.
Do you have different opinions on these dress codes? Can you think of more dress codes that should be argued about? Leave a comment letting me know.
Some of these dress codes I’ve made up myself, and some of them I’ve gotten from Second Opinion. A huge thanks to him for the idea! There’s a link to his blog above all of this, and in my Blogroll.

Haha outdoor shoes I left tracks everywhere a few days ago cause I was late n forgot to wipe em off. It is stupid though they have mats at every door to wipe them off it’s stupid if we can why can’t you your class is defiantly more likely to do it then some people in ours.
For dying hair that is retarded my hair my choice I’d love to see the look of their faces if they ever seen the colors I get in my hair. If I wanna dye my hair that is nobodies business but mine.
Piercings/tattoos same both are awesome I want both as if they actually try to stop people from doing something that small. Unless it’s a tattoo of something really that bad whatever.
Other stupid ones hats, hoods up on hoodies, Jackets When I go into a class that hasn’t had heat on since the day before on a miserable day I’m freezing and want to put my hood up or people want their hats or Jackets on but no its against the rules. Like really what’s the big deal.

Wow, you’re opinions are exellent! I definitly agree with the mini skirts, but I disagree with the strap shirts, tank tops, and muscle shirts, because I think that they are unapropriate. Everytime I see someone wearing those type of cloths, I just don’t feel confortable around them. But that doesn’t mean that your opinion is downright bad, it’s good, it’s just my opinion.

I agree with you. Dying your hair is your freedom, and so is tatooing or pericing. About mini-skirts and tank tops, I also think we should be allowed, sometimes it hot in the summer, and so we should be allowed.
The school should have no right to take away our freedom of chosing what to wear, unless they have uniforms. Schools are a place for learning, so if we keep up our grades, why do they even care about the way we dress?

But are schools just places to learn about academic stuff? Shouldn’t they also be places to learn about morals and about waht is appropriate?

Mini Skirts…they’re good as! What happens when it gets really hot…? Do you reaLLy want to be wearing a long skirt?
I dont like showing bra straps from underneath shirts. Yeah, sure its just material, but it looks stupid
