Social Studies Projects
Hey =)
Lately in class, we’ve been working on social studies to do with the Middle Ages. We had to choose a topic different from everyone elses’ and research about it. My topic is religion. Then we had to turn it into a project (a model, essay, slideshow presentation, etc.) I chose to do an essay and a slideshow presentation. We had to have some forms of representation. I found that most people are either doing a model, essay, blog, website, or a slideshow presentation. I don’t know if anyone is doing anything else different.
In my essay I’ve included information about religion in every day life, the church, monks and nuns, parish and castle priest, bishops, the Pope, friars, and crusades. My slideshow has pretty much the same information, except in pictures. I am reading to the class about each topic. The only thing different about my slideshow presentation is the idea of just putting pictures on it and explaining to the class about each topic, and I’ve included an opening page and an outline page on it. I also didn’t cover anything about religion in every day life in my slideshow, but there’s a lot about it in my essay.
Here is a link to our class wiki. It explains what everyone else in my class is doing for their projects, and it allows you to add ideas for future projects we could do. The password is on the front page, so put whatever good ideas you want. We are using this site for class plans and ideas and we left the password on the front page because we want to see what people from all over the world have to say. They may have some good suggestions!
