On Tuesday night there was a Valentine’s Day Dance!

I would’ve written about it sooner but I have been busy with science fair (oh, and by the way, me and Toni got 1ST PLACE!!!! WOOHOO!!! )

The dance was awesome.  They had pretty good tunes but I have heard better!  People were dancing everywhere and going crazy.  It was a dance at the school.  I was dancing fast and slow.  I slow danced with Mikey, Danny, Tanner, and Catlin.  I fast danced with my buddies, like Toni, Hillary, and more!!!  It was a great dance, I can’t wait til the next dance!!!

I think the next one is semi-formal…

Well on March 4 I am going to Toni’s party in Thompson. It’s gonna be sooo fun! We are going swimming, bowling, shopping, and to Rucker’s. We are also staying overnight in the hotel. We are getting our own room and Toni’s mom is getting her own room. Toni, me, and Hillary are going. It’ll be awesome.Well I gotta go, bye!

Happy birthday Toni,  I can hardly wait for your party!

An assignment we had to do was a “War of the Worlds” comic.

It was a comic on darkhorse.com.  We had to take notes on the colours, page organization, and shots while reading the comic.  Also, we have to do questions on it.  The questions are as follows:

1. Comment on the colours the artist has used, how do they change over time, etc.  Why do you think he has made these choices?
2. Comment on the page organization and shot choices the author has made.  Do you see any patterns, changes, etc?  Why has he made the choices he has?
3. How is reading a comic different from reading a novel? Besides the text, how else is the story given to you?

Those are some interesting questions to think about.  Normally, teachers would ask you questions specifically about the story that you had to search for, or summarize the story.  These questions are different, though.  They actually make you think.

Anyway, speaking of questions, I’d better do mine.  I’ll talk to ya’ll later!

 Friday night was a fun and busy night!

Some friends and I went for lunch at the Black Cat Cafe, a restaurant in town.  Me, Toni, Hillary, Anna, Amanda, Greg, Dustin, Michael, and Matthew went.  It was so awesome! Then, everyone left for home.  But me, Toni, and Matthew walked to Toni’s house and hung out for a while.  After that, Matthew went home and me and Toni worked on our science fair.  By that time, I had to go home.  I studied for my french test a little, had supper, and got ready to volunteer at the school for Frontier Games Badminton.  Me, Toni, and Hillary were working together to volunteer for Frontier Games badminton.  We didn’t really need to do much, we even got off early!! I got home, and watched the movie Flightplan.  It is SUCH an awesome movie, you should see it!!  After that I went on my laptop for a while and then went to bed.

On February 17 (Saturday) I went to Thompson!

I went shopping a lot.  I bought eyeliner, lipgloss, a purse, wireless mouse for my laptop, three pairs of jeans, two shirts, and maybe more, I just can’t remember, haha! 

I got the wireless mouse for my laptop because the TouchPad was getting a little annoying.  It’s a Logitech mouse, and it’s silver and black.  It’s only for home, though.  I will continue using the TouchPad at school.

I had an awesome time in Thompson! 

Today’s plans!

I am going to chill on my laptop for a while, and work on the “War of the Worlds” comic on darkhorse.com.  It’s an assignment for school.  We have to take notes on the comic; things like the colour, shots, and page organization, and then there’s some questions we have to do on it.  I’m not looking forward to that;  that comic is a little boring!!

Then, at 1:00, my friend Nikita is coming over to watch House of Wax with me and my dad.  It’s going to be a good (yet scary) movie!!  I am very excited!  After the movie I am going to study for my french test again…

Not much going on Sunday!

All I need to do is study for my french test,  and maybe work on Science Fair with Toni.  Science fair isn’t as bad as French, thank goodness!!!!

Today in class we watched War of the Worlds.

It was a good movie, except it scared me at times.  I think I would watch it again.

We had a radio play on the World of the Worlds, too, by Orsen Wells.  The movie was way better, though.  You could actually watch what was happening.  But the radio play wasn’t too bad (I liked it because we got to use an iPod Shuffle )

When we were watching the movie, we had to write down similarities and diferences of the radio play and the movie.

There’s a Valentine’s Day Dance at the Youth Centre tomorrow night!

I can hardly wait it’s going to be sooo fun!! The Youth Centre is a hang out place for teenagers, and it’s such an awesome place! The dance is going to be awesome, it’ll be a great memory! I will tell you all the details after the dance.

We started writing our stories today!

We had to design our own world for ELA.  We had to make our own characters, maps - and now, a story!  Mine is going pretty good, for a rough copy.  It should be fun by the time I’m done.

It’s about a rich fairy, who is always being hunted down by an evil wizard.  He is trying to steal her gems, and defeat the fairy.  It’s more detailed than that, but that’s basically what the story is centered around.

Well, I’m gonna head out now.  I will be writing again soon!

I had an awesome Saturday a week ago!

I had been meaning to write about it earlier, but I kept forgetting…oh well.  I’m gonna write about it now.

On Saturday, January 28th 2006, I went to Flin Flon with my two best friends, Toni and Hillary! Toni’s mom and dad took us in their truck.   IT WAS SOOO FUN!! As soon as we got there, we got our third holes pierced in our ears…so now we all have three sets of earrings in our ears!! Then we had delicious subs at Subway! And then after that we went shopping!! We all bought lots of awesome stuff.   And we were gonna go bowling but there was a tournament going on so we couldn’t play until later that night.   We were gonna be on the road home at that time so we couldn’t play.   IT WAS SUCH AN AWESOME DAY!!! WOW!!!

Heyy everyone, I had a really good weekend on February 4th-February 5th!!

On Friday night I went to the Youth Centre, which is a little hang-out place in town.  Toni and Matthew were there, which are two of my close buddies.  Tegan, Ellyn, Kathleen, Becky, Ara, Nikita, Drew, Catlin, Jordan, and a few other people were there too.  It was really fun!!! Then I got a ride home with Toni so I decided to hang out at her place for a little while.  We went on her computer for a little while.  Then Toni was getting a little sleepy so I left so she could go to bed.

The next moring, I got up, fired up my laptop, and worked on my site:   www.april-oxox.piczo.com    I was on MSN for a while, too.  Then I had to babysit Sara and Ethan, two little cute kids.  Their mom, Mrs. Gogal, is a T.A. at our school.  I was babysitting with my best friend Toni!!!  After the kids went to bed it was 10:00…we had to babysit til 2:30 in the morning…we still had a long night.  We watched the movie “A Series of Unfortuante Events” and then we watched a little T.V.  Toni kept falling asleep so I had to keep waking her up. Then Mrs. Gogal got home, payed us, and then I went home and went straight to bed.
Then on Sunday I cleaned my room  and went on my laptop for a little while.  Then after that I went to Toni’s house to work on our Science Fair Project…our project is the building of bridges with 900 grams of spaghetti.  Our project is called “Not Any Wet Noodle Will do!” I know, cute hey!! :)  Then I went home and I was pretty tired so I got ready for bed.

Anyhoo, that was my weekend; it was such an awesome weekened!!!  I am running out of things to write so I’m out now.

As you may already know, exams are over at my school.

I did really well on my exams:
Social Studies - 94%

Math - 81%
Science - 91%

ELA - 91%

I’m pretty impressed with my marks. I studied hard, and I got the marks I deserved. I think I could’ve done a little better on math, but 81% isn’t terrible.

Exams lasted from January 31st to February 3rd. I was sooo happy when they were finally over, no more studying!!! I hope we don’t have anymore tests for a while, and we have an easy week. I need a little break from all that studying for exams.
